For those who are unavailable to view the event live, we can also webcast the entire event or presentation for them, on demand, at their convenience. On-demand webcasting is a "re-broadcast" playable at any time from any computer. So, even if your audience missed the event in real time, they can still see and hear the event when the time is right for them.

The Basic Process
1. Images and/or sound are captured with appropriate equipment. Anything from a single digital camcorder to multiple cameras and mixing desks.
2. The output from this equipment is fed into a laptop or PC using appropriate interface hardware.
3. Encoding software on the PC turns that input into a format suitable for live streaming. Typically this would be ineither Ogg Audio(.oga) and MP3 for Audio along with Ogg Video(.ogv) and MP4 for Video.
4. The encoded output is then transmitted via the PC's internet connection to our streaming servers. The higher the speed of this internet connection, the higher the quality of the images we broadcast.
5. This single stream is received by our streaming servers and re-broadcast, in real time, to multiple viewers via a website link.

Successful Broadcasts
A successful Live Streaming Event broadcast requires planning and testing in order to maximize the viewer experience. Your Live Streaming Event should be viewed by each one of your audience members without any difficulties whatsoever in the highest quality possible.

In order to reach the widest possible audience as you stream your Live Event, you will need to take into account three key factors:

Network Capacity
Before your Live Event you will need to determine the maximum upload speed of the Internet connection at the location of the Live Event Broadcast. What type of connection is available at the location? Has the connection been in place for a period of time and tested? Is there redundancy for the Internet connection or a backup Internet connection should the first one not work? What is the maximum upload speed for the connection? Emanon is here to help you determine this.

Server Capacity
Server Capacity is our concern. At Emanon our Broadcasting cluster utilizes multiple hardware load-balanced servers. Utilizing Linux CentOS 5.4 our Broadcasting cluster can handle even the toughest load.

Audience Capabilities
Before your Live Event Broadcast you will also want to fully evaluate the connection capabilities of your audience. Do most of your users have broadband or dial-up connections? Do they run Windows or Apple based computers? What media players do they have installed on their computers? With Emanon you can reach every member of your audience with our wide array of supported formats.

Follow-up After your broadcast
You may wish to follow up with summary data of your event and/or you may also wish to ensure that the event impact is still viable long after the event is over. Emanon has several key services to offer. To measure what kind of impact your broadcast event had in terms of audience reach and viewer numbers, you can use our Streaming Control Panel to view and determine data such as numbers of viewers and Bandwidth used. Atomix can also assist you to develop follow-up e-mails, surveys and web sites to make sure your event impact was delivered and retained.
